Describe five ways in
which you think you have human capital that is truly unique.
·
Open Minded- I have the ability to listen to a
lot of different opinions and hear them out without shutting them down. In
addition, I can typically see both sides to every story and I can take critique
in an appropriate manner.
·
Adaptable- One of my strongest skills is my
ability to adapt to any environment and any situation. It is very easy for me
to blend into an environment or situation and react appropriately to my
surroundings.
·
Independent- My independence has been a skill
that I have had the ability to develop throughout the entirety of my life. I
tend to take care of myself and I have no problem doing things alone. This skill
I feel is very important, especially to a woman in the business world.
·
Determination- I am not one to give up easily. I
go full force after what I want and I will put in all the work I need to
achieve my goal. Though I may face failure sometimes, I still refuse to give
up.
·
Extroverted- This is one aspect that I feel sets
me apart when paired with the rest of strengths because I thrive off of being
around others and communicating with others. This extroverted aspect allows me
to form relationships with people rather quickly.
Interviews:
1.
How would you describe me? What are
some of my strengths and skills that set me a part?
2.
How do you think those strengths and
skills are present in my daily life and through school?
3.
What emotions or knowledge do I have
that makes me unique?
Reflection:
Based on the interviews, I learned that others tend to see a
myself a little differently than I do. However, it is not in a bad way, they
just tend to see things about me that I tend to overlook or that I never really
realized was a skill that stood out. I think that I assess myself harsher than
others do as I like to be the best version of myself and I feel that there are
a lot of things that I am weak in. I think that gaining an outside perspective
and really learning how others see you and what they believe your skills are is
eye-opening as you start to see that you might have more significant strength
than you think. Going back to the list, I think that I would change open minded
to positivity as a lot of people mentioned my positive outlook on life and
believed that it contributed greatly to my success. In addition, I would
probably change extroverted to loyal or empathetic as many of my interviewees
stated that I was dependable and understanding towards others, one thing that I
did not view as super identifiable in my life.
Hi Haley! It is apparent that your peers think very highly of you. What stood out to me was how much people value your character traits that make you a great friend, person, and employee. You personally described traits that describe your work ethic which I think is very good to be aware of, that way you can always be working to improve. I also agree with you that it isn't a bad thing that people do not see you the same way you see yourself because others describe you as a very emotionally aware person which is something to be proud of.
ReplyDeleteHey Haley! You seem like you have a really great group of friends. Everything they had to say was so sweet and you seem like a hard-worker. My friend's described me the way I thought they would so it's funny how yours described you differently. At least they still described you well.
