Report Findings and
Draw Conclusions:
Through my three interviews, I learned
a lot about what matters to those within my segment when it comes to this
product. Since those in my segment would be the consumers for the application,
that was where my primary focus was.
In the first interview with Mykayla,
she explained that the perfect application for her smart phone would be free
and easy to use. She explains that the app should not be confusing and should
be easy to navigate and understand for people of all ages. In addition, she
went on to explain that the app should be organized in a manner that it would
be easy to search for parking lots/parking garages in a given area and then see
how many spots are available in those lots/garages.
My second interview with Jacob was also very insightful. He said he loved the idea and would find a lot of use for the app. However, he said there should be a way to possibly set up a Siri type function on it so you would not have to be focusing on your phone to find a spot. He explains that it should also be an app with a catchy name that is easy to find in the app store and looks trusting. Jacob would want the application to be safe and protected somehow especially if he was going to be using the app to pay for spots in lots that required fees. He believes that if the app were set up in an accessible manner and it had various features, that the download would definitely be worth it.

The last interview was also very
insightful. Hannah also explained that she would use the app and download it as
long as it was easy to use and did not crash. She said that if it was too
complicated and frustrating that it would not be worth the download and would
end up being just as frustrating as looking for a parking spot. Hannah stated
that the app should look aesthetically pleasing as it would allow more people
to get it and should try to take up as little storage as possible as many young
people run out of storage on phones quickly. In addition, she explained that it
should be easy to use and accessible for all major smart phones and there
should be little to no differences between the apps across different smartphone
providers. Hannah also said it might be a good idea to have a remember where
you parked function and a frequent parking lot/parking garage function on the
app to make it more user friendly.
Overall, these interviews and this segment helped me gain a lot of insight on the product and what it definitely needed to be successful. I think the most important thing that the app needs to be free, user friendly, easy to use, and trustworthy. All of the interviewees were on the same page and believe that the app would make parking easier as long as the app was accessible and efficient. I need to consider the different features that can be included in this app to make the app worth it for consumers, and I also need to speak to different businesses who own parking lots/parking garages that would implement the real-time display board and application.

Haley,
ReplyDeleteThese are great interviews. The ideas that your interviewees gave are insightful. It’s a trend with your potential customers that they all highly value convenience and efficiency. The parking app needs to be clean and easy-to-use for you to be able to provide a solution. Your customers make a good point in that it might create more annoyance than relief if the system is created shoddily.
